The Carrick Yard site was a former coal yard serving the Marylebone Station hub established by the Great Central Railway Company in 1899. The interior design concept was inspired from the site's industrial past as well as Andrew Carrick Gow, a Royal Academy member, local artist and prominent late 19th Century resident of the area.
